As part of the ECNL pathway, our ECNL-RL teams compete against top clubs in the region while maintaining access to ECNL’s high standards of play, coaching, and player development. The league offers a strong stepping stone for players looking to progress to the full ECNL level, with opportunities for postseason play and showcases that attract college scouts.

At SF Elite, we are committed to providing our players with the best possible environment for growth, both on and off the field. The ECNL-RL is a key part of that mission, allowing us to challenge our athletes at a high level while minimizing excessive travel.

Why Should I Play in the ECNL-RL

The ECNL-RL (Elite Clubs National League - Regional League) is a tier of competition within the ECNL structure, designed to provide high-level competition for teams that may not be in the ECNL’s top national tier but still compete at an elite level.

Key Features of ECNL-RL:

  • Regional-Based Competition: Unlike the full ECNL, which has national events and showcases, ECNL-RL is more regionally focused, reducing travel while maintaining a high standard of play.

  • Our pathway now includes a place for every player at each level of their capabilities

  • Each boys age group U13 and up will include a minimum of 2 teams

  • Seamless player movement & opportunities for boys from ECNL-RL to ECNL

  • SF Elite will now offer twice the number of teams with access to ECNL-affiliated competition

  • More opportunities to play in front of college coaches at showcases and Playoffs

  • In the ECNL and ECNL-RL, players are allowed/encouraged to play high school soccer

  • High-Level Development: The league maintains ECNL’s commitment to quality competition, player development, and professional standards.
